Enginemounts Ford Barra – Volvo 740 / 940

Preparation before assembly.
For starters, this is a large engine. Jobs will be required to make it fit.
• You need to cut off a piece of the “inner parts” that strengthens under the hood. Just over the front edge of the engine where it is at its highest.
• You need to make the driveshafttunnel larger at the firewall to be able to fit the gearbox. The best way is to cut and weld new plate to make it larger but can even massage the plate with sledgehammer, but then it will be cramped.
• You need to shorten part of the oilsump and extend the oil pickup with it. See pictures for options below. A little depending on how to remove in the trough you may need to remove a little in the front beam.
