Our BMW shifters work with all manual BMW gearboxes from E30, E36, E46, E8x and E9x. Each shifter is supplied with a stand so installation requires drilling of holes in the tunnel to fit. We can also supply a direct-fix mounting kit & rubber boot to ease installation (no drilling of tunnel is required), these are sold separately.

The hand-assembled Coolerworx short throw shifter can replace OEM gear shifter in order to achieve quicker and more ergonomic change of gears. A precisely operating shifter is designed so that it can be fitted to all standard gearboxes. Our shifters are made from aircraft quality aluminium and teflon bearings. Its metal parts are anodized to protect from corrosion and depreciation. Our shifter follows standard H pattern and has has lockable gears preventing reverse from accidental engagement. In order to match a new gear shifter to the car compartment you can choose the desired colour of the gear shifter and its handle.

The distance to be covered with hand when changing gears reduces even by 40%, but this improvement is reflected only in hand movement – mechanical gear change is the same as with the manufacturer’s gear. Another advantage is that this shifter is long enough and its handle can be reached by hand from the wheel very quickly. This unique shifter model enables drivers to change gears quicker and more precisely and optimises car movement on the road. ‘Coolerworx’ gear shifter will be appreciated both by city drivers and lovers of racing routes. Self centering spring helps you to prevent shifter from wobble and makes gear change more accurate and precise.

Shifter knob uses M12x1.5 thread, so you can easily customize it with aftermarket knob.

Standard vs Pro?
We have 2 versions of most of BMW; Regular or Pro. Aside from the price, there are a number of differences.

The Pro version was designed more for Motorsport application, the shaft has been increased in length in order to have it sit closer to the steering wheel which in turn enables faster shifting and less time for your hand to be away from the steering wheel. The Regular shifter shares the same advantages that come with a short shifter but keep the OEM look as much as possible. The PRO shifter gives you a solid feeling and eliminates any free-play when switching gears thanks to self-centering spring. This is especially beneficial when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, or from 5th to 4th.
